Is the iPod Touch totally unavailable? With so many rumors and speculations, users are totally disgruntled and wish to know if the Apple iPod Touch 6th Gen will ever be released. During the launch of Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus last September, people waited to get a glimpse of the latest line of iPods. However, Apple remained completely silent on this subject. At the same time, there was no mention of the Apple iPod Touch 6th Gen at Monday’s Apple Spring Forward Event. It has been quite some time since Apple released a new iPod Touch.
The last generation iPod was released in 2012 September shipments started in the next month. This device was a major upgrade over the last generation iPod Touch 4thGeneration. The 5th Generation device featured a 4inch display, similar to the one in the iPhone 5. It featured a faster dual-core A5 chip, a looped wrist strap and a 5 megapixel camera. Although the device was a major upgrade, statistics revealed that there was a decline in the sales of the iPod Touch.
The customers started shifting to smartphones for their media player, apps and camera related necessities. Since the last few months, rumors regarding the iPod Touch 6th Generation are quite scarce. As a result, it’s totally unclear whether the device will see any further upgrade. However, the internet rumor mill hasn’t given up. The latest batch of rumors suggests that the Apple iPod Touch 6th generation might release later this year, when Apple launches its latest iPhone upgrades.
If the rumors turn out to be true, the device could be launched alongside the much-speculated iPhone 7. It will be available in many colors like pink, silver, orange, green, red and space grey. Recently iTechWhiz that the device could feature a 5.5 inch screen like the iPhone 6 Plus. At the same time, the display will have a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
