Apple iPad Air 3 Slated to Launch Early Next Year, Declining iPad Sales Is Delaying Its Release, And More Details

Gartner’s survey conducted for 19,000 people in the US, China, France, India, UK and Brazil has indicated that more than two-thirds US households own iPads. As a result, the number of new buyers is expected to drop.

Earlier, an Alphyr report which cited MyDrivers, suggested that the upcoming iPad Air 3 will release in March 2016. This move was done in order to avoid overloading the consumers with different versions of the iPad.

This is mainly because the iPad Pro will hit shelves this month in order to coincide with the holiday season. A Vine Report speculation revealed that the iPad Air 3 will have a starting price of $599 but compared to that, both its predecessors, iPad Air and iPad Air 2 come with starting price tags of $399 and $499.

It should release with various color options like space grey, gold and silver. Vine Report also mentioned that the delay in iPad Air 3 has been caused by the decline in iPad sales for quite some time now.

In the third quarter sales of the tablet, a mere 10.9 million units were sold. Compared to last year, this is 19 percent lower. Apple is probably keeping a close eye on the new iPad Pro and the iPad Mini 4 and based on market feedback, it will decided when to launch the iPad Air 3.
