Apple iOS 9.2 Jailbreak: iOSSecurity Researcher Successfully Jailbreaks iOS 9.2.1 And iOS 9.3, iOS 9.2 Jailbreak Launch Might Get Delayed Due to iOS 9.3 Release!

A lot of rumors regarding iOS jailbreaks are doing rounds on the internet for quite some time now. The last successful jailbreaks that were released for the iOS platform were the jailbreaks for iOS 9.0, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2.

Pangu’s successful attempt at jailbreaking iOS 9 was foiled when Apple released the iOS 9.1 which fixed all the loopholes of the iOS 9 which were used by Pangu to jailbreak that particular version of iOS. Fans of jailbroken versions of iOS were advised by hackers not to upgrade their devices to the iOS 9.1 which will block out the effects of the iOS 9 jailbreak.

Luca Todesco, an iOS security researcher is of the opinion that the iOS 9.2 is extremely difficult to jailbreak and due to this reason a jailbreak for this version of iOS might never be released for the common public.

He added that users who are currently using iOS 9.1 on their devices should abstain from upgrading them to iOS 9.2 as iOS 9.1 is relatively easier to jailbreak. He pointed out that the possibility of an iOS 9.1 jailbreak hitting the market is higher than the possibility of an iOS 9.2 jailbreak release.

Apparently, this particular hacker has successfully jailbroken the iOS 9.2.1 beta and he posted a picture on Twitter regarding this aspect as a proof to his claim. The picture that was uploaded showed the official jailbreak app store Cydia operational on his iPhone 6 device which runs on iOS 9.2.1 beta.

However, the hacker has decided against making this jailbreak public which has resulted in a lot of disappointment among fans of jailbroken iOS. Todesco has also managed to jailbreak the newly released iOS 9.3 beta 1 but will not release it for the common public. A video has also been released by him in support of his claim of jailbreaking iOS 9.3 beta 1.

Todesco has reportedly worked in collaboration with Pangu when the hacking team was working on creating a functional jailbreak for iOS 9. Thus, it is being assumed that the exploits that were found and used by Todesco to jailbreak the iOS 9.3 might be passed along to Pangu by him.

If indeed he decides to so, these exploits could be used by Pangu to develop a working jailbreak for the iOS 9.3 in the near future.Another website is of the opinion that the iOS 9.3 will prolong the wait of Apple device users for a working jailbreak for iOS 9.2.

It was previously reported that a functional jailbreak for the iOS 9.2.1 might be released in the near future. However, the developers of the jailbreak will most likely abstain from releasing it at the current moment when the iOS 9.3 has been announced.

Some of the new aspects that the iOS 9.3 will bring to Apple devices include certain updates for the 3D Touch technology and the brand new Night Shift feature which will only be operational on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The video that Todesco released as a proof to his iOS 9.3 jailbreak showed the Night Shift mode operational on his device which further emphasized on the fact that it was actually running on iOS 9.3 at that time.

Redmond Pie has reportedly asked fans to abstain from upgrading their devices to iOS versions beyond 9.0.2. This is due to the fact that no successful jailbreaking tools have been released for later versions of the iOS yet. Apple has decided to deactivate the downgradable feature and thus users who upgrade their devices beyond iOS 9.0.2 will be stuck with a normal version of iOS.
