The newest version of Android known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been released since a few months. From the looks of it, it has now become a standing annual tradition for Google to release their latest version and it generally features a point zero at the end. Google ends up releasing a new version and gives it to their personally owned Nexus line of devices.
Moreover, the good news is that this is the week when companies start releasing Android Marshmallow software on their devices, and this includes HTC, besides Samsung and LG. HTC has been able to give Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the users of HTC One M9.
‘Gotta Be Mobile’ further reported that the upgrade was released on HTC One M9 for Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile. As a result, this leaves AT&T out of the loop. This situation is not that surprising since Android rollouts often come to certain chosen carriers and as a result, some of them come before others.
There is not really a specified release pattern behind it. After that, M8 should be receiving the upgrade sometime in February. Earlier, HTC promised that their devices would get the upgrade by the end of 2015. Sadly, that didn’t happen and this is not the first time that HTC hasn’t met their announced deadline. Meanwhile, the phones to receive the upgrade are:-
- HTC One M9+
- HTC One M8+
- HTC One E9
- HTC One ME
- HTC One E8
- HTC One M8 EYE
- HTC Butterfly 3
- HTC Desire 826
- HTC Desire 820
- HTC Desire 816
Although some HTC One M8 phones have already received the Android Marshmallow 6.0 upgrade, the M8 owners can now upgrade their devices to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow through crDroid custom ROM.
