According to official reports, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will be soon released on the following devices. These include the Moto G 2013, Moto G 2014, Moto X 2013, and Moto X 2014 along with Moto E 1st and 2nd generation devices. Yibada further reported that the 4G LTE version of the Motorola Moto E will receive the update in the near future.
Most people are expecting that the Motorola Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will be released for their other devices as well. However, till now, there has been no confirmation regarding any further releases.
From the looks of it, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is all about new features and updates like support for USB Type-C along with the fingerprint sensor and much more. Reports indicate that there will also be a new Material design along with some awesome animations with the addition of newly improved themes.
Android Lollipop was released officially in June of 2014 and in 2015, there were several different upgrades released for this version. The upgrades which were released came with various kinds of enhancements and improvements regarding the complete aspect of Android as a whole and it fixed some bugs, glitches and issues at the same time.
Android M 6.0 is coming soon and with that, the devices yet to receive Android 5.1.1 Lollipop needs to be updated as soon as possible. The newest variant of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop should hit various tablets and mobile devices soon enough.
Gospel Herald reported that some Motorola devices have already received the update and these include the handsets like Moto G 3rd generation along with both Moto E 2013 and 2014 variants. The site continued to report that Android 5.1 Lollipop is available for the first and second generation devices of Moto X and Moto E.
According to GottaBeMobile, Moto X devices are always the first to receive any form of new Android Updates. All US owners of Moto X second generation should already be enjoying the Android 5.1 Lollipop update and in case they haven’t received it yet, it’s best choose settings in their devices and update it manually.
Some of the smaller regional carriers are yet to receive the update but all major carriers have already released the update for the chosen devices. On a surprising note, Moto E devices have already received the update but some Moto G variants are still in the list.
Meanwhile, Google Nexus 4 devices under the T-Mobile network received a brand new official update. If you currently have the stock firmware on your device, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop LMY48M should be released anytime now. It will come with a lot of minor security and bug fixes along with Android Security Patches.
However, no other additional changes were mentioned in the official changelog from T-Mobile. As a result, this new update should be treated as a minor one and its better not to expect a lot of new features to be added to your device. Also, keep in mind that these new update is being released in stages so all devices won’t be receiving the update at the same time.
The previous build of the Android 5.1.1 update introduced the StageFright Security Patch but there will still some problems with it and presently an upgraded StageFright Security Patch has been included with the new Android 5.1.1 LMY48M build.
If you want the Android 5.1.1 Update for your T-Mobile Nexus 4, keep in mind that the LMY48I Android 5.1.1 needs to be pre-installed in your device. However, in case you are running a custom ROM in your device, you will need an alternative method to install the update.
