Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators football team – a Preview

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators football team will battle each other at the SEC Championship Game scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 03. It is worth mentioning that the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern and Western Division winners will face each other in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome for the ninth time. CBS Sports has won the exclusive rights for live telecast of the match. The SEC Championship game is an American football game played annually to determine the champion of Southeastern Conference since 1992. Basically, the game is scheduled to be played on the first Saturday of December.

In the 2015 Championship game, Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Florida Gators football team with a dominating 29-15 win. CBS Sport’s national coverage of the game was the top rated college football match of the year 2015. The last time Florida won the title was in the year 2008 with Tim Tebow having a total of 273 yards and 3 touchdowns. The game was also the last that Alabama lost under Nick Saban, the head coach.

Like last year, Saturday’s final playoff between the arch rivals will test the ability of Florida Gators to get pass against a commendable Alabama defense. The Gators have scored miserably in the year 2016 – scoring more than 20 points in only two games in their last 6. Austin Appleby was a player worth the watch -, having nearly as many touchdowns in the season’s first three starts and hurled only two interceptions in a total of three games. Florida’s players have to create the same magic of Appleby for a close competition, let alone a win against the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide. Also, the team has shown a lackluster performance in the running game, ranking a low 98 with a mere 150 yards in each game. On the other Alabama has topped in the nation’s running defense this year. But all is not wrong with the Gators as they do have a strong defense and have let only 13 points per game.

From defense to special teams or offense, Alabama’s tight hold in every department of the field had made the team a force to reckon with this very season. Saban has been a remarkable coach, teaching the team the varied tactics of being aggressive while still playing controlled and smart football. It will definitely be a tall order for the Florida Gators football team as it is in a desperate situation to make a mark of its own. As we eagerly await this encounter, the stakes cannot be higher.
