Who said oldies cannot be funny? Netflix’s Grace and Frankie is one of the funniest series around and it is going to return with its much awaited second season soon. Christian Post reported that Netflix has released the trailer of Grace and Frankie Season 2 online. The subscription service company has also revealed the official poster that has been prepared for the upcoming season.
The show is one of the most viewed shows on Netflix. It has gathered a huge reputation in the first season itself, even though it never shared the publicity scheme that Netflix had for its other popular shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. The series follows the life of two single old ladies, Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin).
The two ladies are anything, but old at heart. The trailer for the upcoming episode shows Grace cutting a small hole into a watermelon and pouring vodka into it. Then there is another scene that shows Frankie rolling up the window of the car, after she is stopped for driving with an expired license.
Grace and Frankie were forced to meet each other after their husbands, Robert (Martin Sheen) and Sol (Sam Waterston), left them in Season 1 of Grace and Frankie stating that they were gay and madly in love with each other.
While Grace has decided to move on and date other men, Frankie has still not tried dating since she is coping with her husband leaving her. Her husband was her best friend and hence she still hasn’t gotten over the shock.
The show doesn’t have any action and is very different from a typical comedy, but there is a charm and a heart to the show that is very difficult to not fall in love with. Grace and Frankie are completely different from each other.
However, fate brings them together when their husbands leave them for each other. Life throws them together and they work together to create a new relationship based on common experiences. The show is full of moments when there are discovered nuances, health scares, new romances that bring these two ladies closer.
The second season trailer shows Grace getting ready to go on a date and start a new life. Frankie is there to advise her and tells her how to dress for the occasion. It isn’t going to be easy getting back into the dating circuit again, but the ladies are going to figure it out. In fact, the promo shows Grace kissing a very handsome man.
The show breaks the stereotype that is expected from old ladies. Grace and Frankie doesn’t play bridge and they surely do not bake and knit. They would rather go bowling or check potential partners at the farmer’s market.
The two have a lot of plans this year. They have plans to launch Frankie’s homemade organic lubricant, made with yams. Grace had been actively working before she retired. She desperately wanted her job back, but it has been taken over a young woman.
However, Frankie and Grace make Brianna try their yam lubricant and she loves it and there are chances of it becoming an actual product.
Apart from this, viewers will see Frankie eye her old boyfriend, while Grace gets to date her old friend, Phil (Sam Elliot). The two are in their Malibu beach house, taking life easy and enjoying every minute of it.
The primary aim of Grace and Frankie is to follow the women as they rediscover themselves and there is a lot of to be explored in Season 2. The first step of it has been reached, since they have accepted the relationship between Robert and Sol.
