Jeremy Lin of Charlotte Hornets Is No Longer Annoyed By Security Checks, Updates on His Back Injury and Return!

Jeremy Lin was stopped at the Barclays center in Brooklyn when the security failed to recognize him as a player and this is not the first time it has happened either. Upon joining the Charlotte Hornets, he ran into a similar situation when the security demanded more credentials in order to prove that he was indeed a real basketball player.

For any fan of NBA, it would be quite difficult not to recognize Linsanity. Sadly, there are exceptions. It is no longer annoying to Lin about being singled out because of the fact that he was Asian. Whether this is a serious claim or if it is a simple poke, remains to be established. In these days, raising such topics could quickly get out of hand. Hopefully, it doesn’t.

Lin is enjoying a great season compared to his previous years. He is playing a rather backup role for the Hornets but the fact remains that this new particular role seems better suited for him.

With Lin’s help, Hornets are play-off bound. Hornets have had to deal with a lot of struggles, mostly due to injuries. Charges made by Steve Clifford have survived, when compared to other teams which struggled exceedingly.

The Hornets have actually made a dramatic turnaround and they could go even higher if they continue on their run. Currently, they are 1 and a half games behind the Atlanta Hawks and are further in a suitable position to end up third in the Eastern Conference standings. Meanwhile, Lin has become used to the poor recognition on the part of security officials.

He mentioned that this usually happens when the Hornets play in opposing arenas but he has learned to live and deal with it. He is in the process of rebuilding his stock with his new home and presently he is proving his worth with the Hornets. With time, Lin will get the recognition he deserves.

After a lot of racial snubbing and half-a-decade of Linsanity, it is expected that NBA’s first American born player of Taiwanese descent should not have to justify his place anymore but sadly he still does it. “It’s one of those things where it literally happens everywhere,”

Lin told ESPN.com after practice in Detroit on Thursday. “At opposing arenas, it happens all the time. Just the other night in Brooklyn, I was trying to leave [Barclays Center] and one of the ladies was like, ‘Hey, I need your credentials for you to pass.’ And then someone else was like, ‘Oh, he’s a player. He’s good.’ I’m used to it by now. It’s just part of being Asian in the NBA.”

Jeremy Lin has remained a key reserve for the Charlotte Hornets during this season but his health is in question after he suffered a back injury. The Hornets will be playing the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday and the PR of Charlotte Hornets confirmed on Twitter that Lin would not be suiting up due to a sore lower back.

He signed with the Hornets during this past off-season and it happened after spending one campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers. He has further provided quality depth to the backcourt which further boasts Nicolas Batum and Kemba Walker.

Charlotte has established itself as a potential contender in the Eastern Conference, thanks to per-game averages of 11.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists. His most notable performance was during a win over the San Antonio Spurs on 21st March.
