However, the company will have to work a little harder if they want to clear the diesel engine block, since, Volkswagen’s latest scandal has shaken up the entire auto industry, especially the United States of America.
Clean diesel is not as clean as the people might have initially thought. Hence, Fiat-Chrysler is going to have a tough time convincing the authorities that their vehicle fulfils every promise made earlier.
If the current scenario is kept in mind, we might witness a new and improved, Wrangler with enhanced ergonomics and a lightweight chassis. This has its own range of perks, ranging from better performance to higher fuel economy.
However, keeping things in perspective, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler will be as robust as ever and will be a tough competition to the Range Rover’s, although, Jeep has a long way to go, if they want to earn their reputation as a Rover-slayer.
Fiat-Chrysler should also be looking at smaller petrol engine variants to keep city commuters happy, since most Wranglers spend a majority of their life cruising through city traffic. Diesel- powered vehicles are usually unable to provide the kind of cruising comfort provided by the petrol engines.
