2016 Nissan Leaf: Travelling Range Updated Thanks to the Higher Capacity Battery, Enjoys Record-Breaking Sales Worldwide, And More

Japanese carmaker Nissan launched its all-electric, zero-emission Leaf back in 2010. It will presently celebrate its fifth anniversary with the latest Leaf leading the zero-emission model throughout the globe, with 178,074 units sold.

The latest statistics suggest that the pioneer drivers of this model have prevented the release of 266million kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere. In other terms, it would have taken 19million trees to neutralize such amounts of CO2.

In 2010, Nissan launched Leaf as one of the first all-electric vehicle, designed exclusively for mass consumption. Presently, it is the world’s most solid Electric vehicle. They have combined style and design with a budget approach and with the green tag, who wouldn’t like it.

Nissan Leaf even broke its own records in 2014 with an increase of 33% in sales over the last year. Nissan introduced the e-NV200 all-electric van in May 2014, further advancing its environmental commitment.
