Winds of Winter: Martin Working on a New Project, Predicts Hugo Awards and Plans to Work on Eight Books, More Details

International Business Times reported that Martin had recently attended the screening of Outlander at the Jean Cocteau cinema in Santa Fe. The first season of the series was shown to a select audience that included Diana Gabaldon, on whose book the series is based on.

Leslie Groell, Martin’s editor has revealed that Martin is thinking of writing eight books in total for the series. Initially there were expected to be seven books, but fans are not complaining about this news. The more the better when it comes from the hands of George R.R Martin.

Game of Thrones that is based on A Song of Ice and Fire is currently working on their sixth season in Belfast. Martin is yet to complete the sixth book and this has caused fans to worry that HBO is working on their own version of the plot.

However, there are fans who are hopeful that the book is complete since Game of Thrones director Jack Bender had confirmed to have read the sixth book by Martin. This comment by him had made the fans believe that Martin is done with Winds of Winter, but is waiting for the perfect moment to make the announcement.

Bender has not made any further comments on this and Martin has also asked fans to not believe in rumors.
