It was recently announced that Robert Downey Jr. will once again suit up as Iron Man in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. It will officially launch featuring Tom Holland as the web-slinging friendly neighborhood Spiderman through a solo film. At the same time, people are wondering if Chris Evans as Captain America will be a part of this movie as well.
This happened after Tom Holland himself expressed hope for Chris Evans’ character to make an appearance in the upcoming reboot for Spiderman. Holland said, “I really like Iron Man, he’s obviously my favorite. I’d like Cap to show up at some point. I think that would be really cool if he did.” He answered this when MTV asked which Avengers superheroes he would like to see in the upcoming standalone movie featuring him as Spiderman.
The rumors revealed that Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man will act as a mentor to a younger Iron Man. This rumor was further strengthened when Downey himself admitted that there is no planned Iron Man 4 movie. The iron-clad superhero will be included in the cast of upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Speculations suggest that Iron Man will soon start his mentoring role in the upcoming movies of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Right now, Captain America Civil War is being shown all around the world and Tom Holland’s Spiderman has chosen Iron Man’s side in the war between two groups of superheroes. Holland describes his character to simply be a kid with superpowers who reacts to Avengers in the same way that a normal kid would.
It is clear that he needs to be mentored by someone else who is really more seasoned as a superhero. In this case, it is Iron Man. Marvel might include Captain America in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming but a question that needs to be answered is what influence he will have on Peter Parker/Spiderman in the upcoming movie.
In the meantime, Holland has already started earning positive reviews with his portrayal of Spiderman in Captain America Civil War. Some people have even considered his character to be the only good thing about the movie. Civil War will hit Northern Theaters on 6th May.
People who are still waiting to see Civil War are pretty hyped about the movie since they will be seeing almost every major Marvel character in the movie team up and fight against each other. At the same time, fans will also be introduced to a few new characters as well. Tom Holland is the most exciting of all the additions.
People have already started enjoying this new actor as Spiderman and Spidey dived headfirst into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, meeting too many hard-hitters in one sitting. Tom Holland’s solo flick, Spider-Man: Homecoming is already under development and fans have been wondering as to how many Avengers characters will be appearing in this movie.
Besides Robert Downey Jr, who else will introduce themselves in the solo Spiderman film? Tom Holland, sweet as he is, clearly wants both Captain America and Iron Man, portrayed by RDJ and Chris Evans respectively, to be present in his movie. It seems like if you are planning to make a wishlist, you might as well go all out on it. The best part about the MCU is there are constant crossover between the film and TV series.
Marvel has beautifully crafted a well-knit universe and the characters all interact and have wonderful histories with each other. It will be really interesting to see how Spiderman fits in the entire franchise. Keep in mind that Peter Parker is a high school student with a fresh perspective of the world.
