Vikings Season 4: Michael Hirst Reveals Photo Indicating Betrayal, Floki To Face Trial!

Vikings Season 4 is going to be back on 18th February. The upcoming season is going to have ten episodes. Wait before you become sad about the number of episodes. The fourth season of Vikings will have twenty episodes in total.

The first ten episodes will be shown in the first half of the season and then the remaining ten will be back after a short midseason break.

The official trailer for Vikings Season 4 that was launched at the Comic Con 2015 had already shown that the upcoming season will be one full of war and blood and betrayal. Vikings Season 3 had ended with Ragnar heading to Paris, where he wins after almost getting defeated.

This season is going to see the death of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel). Fimmel is going to shift to Hollywood where he will be playing the lead role in Warcraft. Michael Hirst said that he can very easily imagine Vikings without Ragnar since he always knew that there was a possibility of this given the original story of Ragnar Lothbrok.

Michael Hirst the show-runner of Vikings Season 4 has shared a photo of the cast that hints at what the viewers can expect in the upcoming season. The image shows the actors in Vikings Season 4 posing like Jesus Christ and the Apostles at The Last Supper.

Those who are aware of the Last Supper will know that this is where Jesus Christ was betrayed by Judas. With the photo of the actors from Vikings Season 4 posing like the last supper there is a clear indication that Ragnar Lothbrok is going to be betrayed by someone very close to him.

Viewers will not need any hint to immediately think of Rollo (Clive Standen), Ragnar’s brother who had already betrayed him after the siege of Paris. Rollo had always been overshadowed by his powerful and popular brother and when he gets the opportunity to decides to eliminate Ragnar.

MNR Daily has reported that Rollo will be blamed for betraying his brother. A dying Viking is the one who mentions this to Rollo and also foresees that Ragnar is going to come to his head after he dies. Rollo will not be at peace even with Ragnar out of his way.

There are speculations that Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) will also have reasons to betray Ragnar. Vikings Season 4 will have Floki facing trail for killing Athelstan (George Blagden). Ragnar will be torn between a good king and a good friend and his dilemma will leave him in a bad state.

Floki might have a hint that Ragnar will end up punishing him and keeping this in mind there are chances that he might want to finish Ragnar off before he can decide on the decision of the trail.

The list of people who can betray Ragnar doesn’t just stop there. There are chances that Ragnar’s wife Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). Aslaug had a taste of power when she was left behind to take care of Kattegat when Ragnar heads to Paris.

With the people wanting to put Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) on the throne, there are chances that Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will feel threatened with her son Ivor the Boneless, will not get the chance to shine at all.

The trailer for Vikings Season 4 shows Aslaug visiting a seer to ask if there is a chance for a woman to get on the throne. The seer says that there is a chance of a woman coming to the throne of Kattegat after Ragnar. However, the trailer doesn’t show what the answer of the seer is when Aslaug asks if Lagertha is going to come to throne.
