In other news, Honda has officially revealed the 2015 Accord Safety Car prior to this weekend’s Indy Car Prix at Alabama. This Safety Car is based on the production model, which is slated to hit showrooms soon. This vehicle features a 3.5-liter V6 engine block, which has been modified according to the specifications of Honda‘s R&D Division. Minor modifications have been made to the chassis as well, which is now sportier!

High-flow fuel injectors combined combine with a Borg-Warner turbocharger, a hand-crafted intake, exhaust system and intercooler to produce 400 BHP. The engineers have inculcated Honda Performance Development’s competition pistons and connecting rods, along with a crankshaft from the Acura RLX to obtain optimum reliability and a performance-rich engine layout.

The standard six-speed transmission system on the production model Accord has been strengthened with high-intensity shot peening while a Limited Slip Differential has been added to ensure maximum utilization of the power developed.

Chassis modifications such as the inclusion of an HPD brake system, racing pads, competition rotors and stainless steel brake pads have been made. The chassis has been stiffened while high-performance tires from Firestone have been mounted on Enkei alloy rims at a special camber angle, to extract maximum performance.
