According to most expectations, the Huawei Mate 8 is supposed to make its debut later this month on the 26th but there are some pricing details which have already surfaced online. The upcoming Mate 8 from Huawei will probably hit the market as a pretty high-end phablet and furthermore, it should come with high-end specifications as well.
With the high-end specs, the Huawei Mate 8 will join the Huawei Mate S at the top position of Huawei’s portfolio. Meanwhile, regarding the price of the Huawei Mate 8, there are no official details available at the moment but with the help of a recent leak, we have received some details and information on this matter.
According to reports from AndroidHeadlines, the Mate 8 should arrive in two different configurations. There will be a 32GB internal storage model, equipped with 3GB of RAM and at the same time, there will be a model with higher-end specs, including 64GB in-built storage and a 4GB RAM.
The latest leak suggests a price of $520 for the 32GB model with 3GB RAMS and at the same time, the 64GB variant with the 4GB RAM will be priced around $610. Huawei Mate 8 should turn out to be the most affordable handset in the company’s lineup if the prices turn out to be accurate in nature. On the other hand, this tablet will include some flagship specifications. As a result, the higher price sounds pretty justified.
According to a GFXBench listing, the Mate 8 will come with an in-house Octa Core Processor, clocked at 2.2GHz and featuring a Kirin 950 chipset. This will further power a 6inch screen and a display resolution of 1080p.
There are various other rumored specs in this device like an 8megapixel front camera, a 16 megapixel back camera along with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The Mate 8 will surely be a pretty intriguing offering with the different RAM options and the earlier-mentioned storage.
Furthermore, the Huawei Mate 8 will run Google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. We need to be patient in order to see what Huawei has in store for us but the price range of $500-$600 sounds pretty reasonable, considering the specs. Keep in mind that everything is presently rumored and you need to take these rumors and leaks with a grain of salt.
In other news, Huawei is now the second largest Android brand in Europe as reported by Kantar. It hasn’t been too long since the launch of the Nexus 6P and the Huawei Mate S. However, the company is already planning to tease the launch of the Mate 8 on 26th November.
There aren’t many details available about this smartphone but all rumors suggest that it will come with the upcoming Kirin 950 chipset which was recently announced. Besides the Apple A9 chip, it will be one of the first to utilize TSMC’s 16nm FinFET Plus process and this will bring more efficiency to the device.
Similar to its predecessor, you will notice improved performance in the Kirin 950 octa-core processor. The old mid-range offering provided eight Cortex-A53 cores but the new device will come with 4 Cortex A53s and 4 Cortex A57s. Gaming should be quite a treat on this device as it comes with ARM’s flagship Mali-T880 GPU.
There are further goodies that are yet to be revealed and one of them includes a snappier LPDDR4 RAM. Besides that, you should get a new i5 sensor hub and this will make it 90% more efficient.
The device will further feature an in-house developed powerful image signal processor. It will further include a more-efficient single chip radio solution. Besides that, the device will support global bands along with LTE Cat 6 carrier aggregation (300 Mbps downlink, 50 Mbps uplink).
