The previous season of NCIS: LA didn’t end in a cliff-hanger, but there are plenty of storylines that are going to be dealt with the coming season. For one, the series is going to pick up with the mysterious mole of OSP that was uncovered by Granger (Miguel Ferrer) and Hetty (Linda Hunt)
NCIS: LA Season 8 is going to see the showrunner, Shane Brennan stepping down. He has been a part of the series since Season 1, and the fans of the popular series are a bit skeptical about the fate of the series following his departure. Brennan has gone on record to state that he will be replaced by Scott Gemmill, who was one of the executive producers of the show.
Gemmill is a capable replacement to Brennan since he has been involved in the working of NCIS: LA and he know the nitty-gritty of the series. The reason for Shane Brennan’s stepping down lies in his other commitments. He has signed a two-year contract to work on new projects with CBS under the banner of Shane Brennan Productions.
His commitments towards the projects under Shane Brennan Productions makes it difficult for him to fulfill his role as the showrunner of the popular series and hence he had decided to step down. He will continue to be one of the executive producers of NCIS: LA Season 8.
