He is a loving and wise father in Blue Bloods, and this family of NYC cops includes Danny (played by Donnie Wahlberg), an NYPD detective, Jamie (played by Will Estes), an NYPD police officer, and Erin (played by Bridget Moynahan), the assistant district attorney. Len Cariou plays the role of Henry, Frank’s Father.

He is a former NYPD cop who held the Police Commissioner position. Selleck’s return was confirmed by Deadline on 7th July, Thursday. The actor signed a deal to stay in this show for yet another season. According to the website, Blue Bloods began production of the upcoming season on Thursday.

The series created by Robin Green and Michael Burgess has a great viewership and presence around the world, and it is an important asset of the CBS Corp. In the season 6 finale of Blue Bloods, it tackled several police shootings and showed how the Reagans collaborated on a teenager’s caught-on-video shooting.

It was an act of retaliation that followed. Frank was the wise one again, instructing his family that both sides of conflict need to negotiate and trust each other. We can expect that Frank will remain as the show’s moral guide in Season 7. It was suggested by Carter Matt that the character needs to get involved with a new love interest as well.

The outlet further reported that it had been quite some time since Frank lost his wife and time is ripe for the show to engage him with someone else. If Frank gets a new romantic relationship, it will also focus on an important point that love can be possible at any age. Season 7 of Blue Bloods will debut 23rd September on CBS at 10 PM ET.

The show aired on Friday, which is a rather low-traffic day for all TV shows. Even then, it managed to become the 5th most-watched drama series during 2015-2016, as declared by Entertainment Weekly. The show had an average of 13.1 million viewers and enjoyed high ratings among adults aged 18-49 with a ratio of 1.8 and adults aged 25-54 with a ratio of 2.6.

The 71-year old Selleck has been a part of the industry since the 1970s. He has remained a part of Blue Bloods since 2010 and at the same time, he is known for other TV roles as well.

He gained popularity when playing the role of Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the Magnum, P.I TV series. This TV series lasted for eight years, from 1980 to 1988. Besides that, he played more than 50 roles in both films and TV series. He has been a part of many notable projects like Quigley Down Under, Three Men and a Baby, Mr. Baseball, Friends, Lassiter, and Las Vegas.

Some TV shows can be duly categorized as Energizer bunnies. No matter how long they keep running, they will still find a way to be popular and gather a lot of audiences. ‘Blue Bloods’ is clearly one of these shows.

‘Blue Bloods’ has been running for six consecutive seasons and even though the numbers declined over time, it happened at a slower rate compared to some of the other network TV shows.

A remarkable thing about this show is that it is still the most-watched series on Friday Nights. Sometimes during the spring months, it competed against Shark Tank as well.
