Is the upcoming Ford Troller the 2016 Ford Bronco? This question has been deemed as hoax since numerous online portals first brought up the question a few months back. Ford is unwilling to comment on the situation at the moment, claiming that the vehicle is in the early stages of production.
However, experts and industry insiders believe that the vehicle could launch towards the first half of 2016. Sample photos and fan-made renderings initially grabbed eyeballs, but Ford’s reluctance to come up with a statement, either confirming or declining the authenticity of the images, acted as a damper and stalled further rumors.
Another valid factor supporting the hoax claim is the publish date – April 1st, 2014. This led numerous people to believe that the 2016 Ford Bronco was an April fool’s joke. Over time, reporters from numerous online tabloids have got in touch with the officials at Ford and each time the response from the authorities has been the same. “While Ford cherishes the iconic Bronco, there are no plans for a new Bronco.”
As disheartening as it might sound, skeptics are yet to be convinced. Many people are under the impression that Ford is secretly working on a new version of the Bronco, and it will surface shortly. The supposed specifications of the 2016 Ford Bronco include an eight-cylinder 5.0-liter Coyote gasoline engine setup, displacing 420 BHP, an eight-cylinder 5.8-liter engine block with 662 BHP and 631 ft-lb of torque, and a six-cylinder 4.9-liter Powerstroke diesel engine block displacing 330 BHP.
The problem with most rumors is that they are spread by websites that do not have a clue about the situation. These websites, looking for publicity, makeup stories and stick to them, in order to draw in the crowd. Many of these websites even claim to have spoken to some official from the company! Hence, when the Ford F-150-based rendering of the 2016 Ford Bronco surfaced, many unreliable websites stuck to the story gloating about the authenticity of the renderings.
