Once Upon a Time Season 5 midseason premiere is approaching the release date and the news about an exciting line up of events has already created quite a buzz. The first thing that the show will deal with the moment it opens up is Emma’s (Jennifer Morison) trip to the Underworld to desperately save Hook (Colin O’Donoghue).
The trip isn’t going to be a short one and therefore the first few episodes will focus heavily on that before the series can move to other plot points.
In the midseason finale Hook sacrifices himself so that he can remove the darkness from the town of Storybrooke and that within Emma and himself. Things don’t move that smoothly since Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) betrays him to ensure that he is ultimately the only dark one.
Emma finds out about this betrayal and forces Rumpelstiltskin to go along with her to Hell so that they can get Hook back. The journey to Hell will see numerous dead characters come back. There isn’t a clear idea about which actors the viewers can expect, but Christian Today reported that Rumpelstiltskin’s ex-wife Milah (Rachel Shelley) is surely going to be there.
Showrunner Adam Horowtiz spoke to TV Line about their plan to bring in Milah. He said that the story is going to get very interesting given her connection with each of the characters who are now in Hell.
Milah was killed by Rumpelstiltskin after she strays with Hook. Milah couldn’t bear the fact that her husband had deserted the soldiers in the ogre war and she gets angry and decides to head to a bar. There she encounters Hook, the two falls madly in love and they run away leaving Rumpelstiltskin.
With Milah facing her husband after being killed by him, will be an interesting moment and so will her encounter with Emma, the new love interest of her ex-lover. If this wasn’t all, Milah and Rumpelstiltskin’s son Baelfire (Michael Raymond-James) was once married to Emma. This interesting reunion is going to be a big moment and fans can’t wait to see it.
There is a chance that Milah will also meet Hook in Hell and she might be the one who can ensure that he leaves the place and goes back. Emma is also going to meet Baelfire aka Neal in Hell. He had died in her arms back in Season 2 of Once Upon a Time. This news was hinted by showrunner Edward Kitsis.
There was a lot of doubt as to whether Michael Raymond-James will reprise his role in Once Upon a Time Season 5 midseason, but Kitsis informed that it is going to be very odd if Emma heads to Hell and doesn’t have anyone to talk to about Neal and neither does she encounters him.
Horowitz and Kitsis are very excited about Milah meeting all these characters and it will also be interesting to see how Emma reacts to finding out that her true love had been married to someone centuries ago.
The fifth season of Once Upon a Time will see Dorothy from Wizard of Oz entering the world of the fairy tale characters. This is likely to happen in the 17th episode, which is titled Ruby Slippers. The episode is set to be very different since it will explore an LGBT relationship.
