The PlayStation 4.5 is the first of three expected PlayStation console releases in the next twelve months. Rumors regarding Sony releasing a new console sounded rather surprising in the beginning but the latest links suggest that this is bound to happen.
According to Giant Bomb, Gamespot’s sister site, PlayStation 4.5 has been codenamed Neo but this will obviously not be the ultimate name of the machine.
The PlayStation 4.5 can be considered to be stop-gap console before PS 5 finally releases and it will offer superior resolutions compared to the present generation PS4. At the same time, it will possibly run titles at higher frame rates.
Meanwhile, Phil Spencer of Microsoft Xbox said, “I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers.”
Reports indicate that the upcoming Nintendo NX console will come with industry leading chips and an Android OS could be included as well. No matter what, Nintendo will take a whole new way of tackling the console war in the near future.
