Longmire follows the story of the sheriff of Wyoming county Walt Longmire as he tries to find out his wife’s murderers while on duty. Longmire has his team of supporters with his daughter and trusted friends as he goes about solving crimes in the areas under his jurisdiction.
Christian Today reported that Longmire Season 5 will be darker than the previous seasons. With no restrictions imposed on the story and the nature of the story, the showrunners can go ahead and create the story that they want.
Most of the Netflix series, like House of Cards and Daredevil have dark overtones and depict a lot of sex and violence, which a normal network will not allow them to explore.
Enstarz reported that when the showrunners decided to end Longmire Season 4 with a cliffhanger, it was their confidence that made them go ahead with it. Netflix had not yet given the go ahead with Season 5, but in spite of it, the showrunners decided to end the fourth season in that manner.
Fans are expecting Longmire Season 5 to release in September 2016 since Season 4 premiered around that time this year. However, the official date has been released and neither has production begun.

Episodes of Longmire Season 4 were typically running between 55 & 65 minutes due to Netflix being able to allow it. If season 5 is only running about 45 minutes then that will be a great cut in run time.

I have enjoyed the drama and characters…..and do not worry about grandchildren seeing what I am watching…….and hopefully they will be influenced by the morals and values shown …..with the all too often opposites shown on other programs it is refreshing to know there if some values put on characters!!!!!!!!
