DreamWorks Animation is banking heavily on Kung Fu Panda 3. Being a tie up with Oriental DreamWorks, the film is hoping to do huge business in China.
With China becoming one of the largest market for the Hollywood movies, it is expected that the business during the Lunar New Year in China will be greater than the business that the film will do in the United States.
Ann Daly, the President of DreamWorks Animation said that Kung Fu Panda 3 will show the investors and the cine goers the way the production house has revamped itself and she is very confident about the way the company has developed over the years.
While talking at the UBS media conference organized recently in New York City, Ann Daly confessed that it has been a tough year for DreamWorks Animation, but the new team that has been created us focused towards taking the company to newer heights.
The film is directed by Alessandro Carloni and Jennifer Yuh Nelson and it will take up Po’s (Jack Black) adventure from where it ended in Kung Fu Panda 3. This time round Po is set to realize that he was adopted by Mr. Ping (James Hong) and he will meet his biological family in a Panda village up in the mountain.
Po is taken to the Panda village by his biological father (Bryan Cranston) and he lives there happily wondering how all the Pandas look so similar to him with some variation in size. However, the merriment comes to an end when Kai (J. K. Simmons)
However, the merriment comes to an end when Kai (J. K. Simmons) a evil spirit decides to kill off all the Kung Fu masters in the world to kill off the art, Po takes it upon himself to teach his Panda village how to do kung fu.
Teaching Pandas how to kung fu isn’t an easy task and that is where Po’s friends Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogan), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross) come to his rescue. They all train the cute, fun-loving, clumsy band of Pandas to become a group of the most lethal Kung Fu pandas.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is set to feature the first Panda triplets. Named Ku Ku, Meng Meng and Shuai Shuai, each of these cubs will have a character in the film based on them. These three cubs are the first set to have been born in captivity in the Chimelong Safari Park.
The manager of the Chimelong Safari Park, Dong Guixin has said that with Kung Fu Panda 3 featuring the panda triplets the awareness towards safeguarding the Panda population is going to get a big boost.
There are many who don’t know about Pandas and the film will help spread the message about how difficult it is for the Panda population to grow given that they are peaceful, nature loving animals and are helpless in the world where their natural habitat is being tampered.
VC Post reported that the current Panda population in the world is estimated to be around 1,600 in the wild and their number is dwindling rapidly. To keep up the number, there are over 300 pandas being grown in captivity. The Pandas have been classified as endangered species and the reason for their low population is the loss of wildlife and their low birth rates.
