The previous game in the Left 4 Dead franchise- Left 4 Dead 2 was released way back in 2009 and fans are eagerly waiting for Valve to roll out the next game in the survival horror series of video games.
Various rumors suggest that the game will comprise of four frontline characters. Among them, one will be a female character and the rest of them would be males. The female character being- Katherine. As for the rest of the three, they are- Keenan the comic book nerd, Irvin the gangster and Garret Jr. the Kenpo fighter.

Some previous reports claimed that the developers have been working on the game for over a year now. Apparently, some leaks related to the game was the source for this piece of information. The leak reportedly hinted towards the fact that the developers have already completed the basic gameplay of Left 4 Dead 3. The game is past the preliminary stages of development.
The previous games of the Left 4 Dead series were developed by Turtle Rock Studios. However, it has come to light that the third game will not be produced by the said studio. Instead, the development will be done by Valve.
Phil Robb, the founder of Turtle Rock Studios himself gave confirmation in this regard. He stated that that the studio was done with Left 4 Dead. In his own words- “I think we’re pretty much done with it. It’s Valve’s thing now. We’ve kind of gone off in our own direction.”
He added that he would like to see Valve incorporate new things in the game. He was of the opinion that Valve does great work with any game that they develop and thus it is likely that they will be doing the same thing with Left 4 Dead 3 too.
Valve on the other hand is eerily quiet regarding the mater. Left 4 Dead 3 is not the only game from the studio for which fans are waiting for a concrete update from Valve. The third game to the Half-Life series, that is Half-Life 3 is another game regarding which the studio has failed to come up with concrete updates.
Similar to Left 4 Dead 3, Half-Life 3 is an immensely anticipated game. Fans have been patiently waiting for valve to update them regarding the fate of the game for a long period of time. However, the studio has remained quiet.
The studio once hinted towards the possibility that the game might not be created at all. Needless to say, this created a lot of dissatisfaction among fans.
Coming back to the matter of Left 4 Dead 3, all that was reported regarding the game has been done based on rumors and speculations. No solid proof that would cement the existence of the game has come to light as of yet.
The creator of the Half-Life franchise, Marc Laidlaw resigned from Valve sometime back and it reportedly dealt a huge blow to the development of Half-Life 3. The news was an exciting one for the fans of the Left 4 Dead series who thought that since Valve is facing problems in the development of Half-Life 3, the company would instead focus on developing Left 4 Dead 3.
