The developers of Clash of Clans recently launched a follow-up to the immensely popular building strategy game for the iOS platform. This new game is being called Clash Royale and it

This new game is being called Clash Royale and it has made an appearance on the iOS platform in a few countries that include- Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Iceland, Denmark, Finland and New Zealand.

Clash Royale is essentially a digital card dueling and collection game that comprises of various elements from Clash of Clans and other games like Hearthstones.

Supercell has combined these different elements and formed a game which is similar to real-time strategy games like Dota 2 and League of Legends.

The gameplay of Clash Royale has the essence of a multiplayer online battle arena game and various well-known troops from Clash of Clans are seen making an appearance in it. The game contains cards which represent different characters and spells from Clash of Clans.

Players are tasked with the collection of these cards and then using them to go up against an opponent player in real time. The game is specifically designed for the purpose of head-to-head battles among players in real time.

Apparently, Supercell has been keen on developing a fun player-versus-player mobile game for a long time, and it looks like that the Finnish company has finally managed to achieve its long anticipated goal with Clash Royale.

Despite being set in the Clash of Clans universe; Supercell is not looking at Clash Royale as a sequel to the former. Rather it is depicting this game as a standalone title which has been created by a separate team of developers who are not involved with Clash of Clans at the current moment.

The company stated that some of the founding members of Clash Royale have been past members of the developmental team of Clash of Clans, but they do not have any connection to Clash of Clans developmental anymore.

Supercell further added that the company intends to keep the developmental teams of both the games separate moving forward.

No specific details have been divulged by the company yet as to whether the game will be released in other countries and for other platforms apart from iOS in the future.

Supercell has been facing a lot of criticism from fans since it rolled out the latest update for Clash of Clans on 10th December, 2015.

The TH 11 update was one of the biggest updates that was released for the game and it brought forth several new aspects to the game along with a brand new Town Hall 11.

A lot of fans are expressing their frustration on various Clash of Clans forums over the fact that the developers have made loot farming extremely difficult with the latest update patch. The update which brought in several changes also reworked the shield system of the game.

After the update, simply getting one’s Town Hall destroyed is not granting a shield to players. This feature is facing a lot of criticism from hardcore players of the game as it has drastically reduced the scope of farming.

At present, a player obtains a shield only when an opponent player destroys a minimum 30% of the defending player’s village. Thus, the concept of free shield which was earlier obtained by getting the Town Hall destroyed has been done away with.

Thus, it has become nearly impossible for players to obtain a shield without getting attacked and losing some amount of resources.

This has enraged fans and even diehard Clash Personality Chief Pat was seen criticizing this feature in a video created by him related to the update. Pat stated in his video that the process of farming is currently taking 25% more time to produce the same amount of resources.
