People expected an epic adventure in Victorian London after the fiasco with Assassin’s Creed Unity. With Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, players are inserted into the Industrial Revolution while it focuses on the conflict between Assassins and Templars.
Ubisoft Quebec created Assassin’s Creed Syndicate as a title that is heavily focused on a single player experience and this is a title which most importantly brings the game back to its origins.
It remains to be seen whether this is a step taken in the right direction or not. Since Assassins Creed III, this is the first title in the franchise with 2 characters Jacob and Evie Frye.
The game is completely set in Victorian London and introduces a breathtaking landscape serving as a realistic backdrop. The storyline is quite engaging thanks to the dynamic of these two protagonists, created in the storyline.
One of the protagonists is focused on finding the missing pieces of Eden and stopping the Templars while the other is quite different, with his gang called ‘The Rooks’. He prefers a more bare-hands approach when it comes to fighting injustice in the Templar-controlled city.
In most cases, you will notice Jacob’s character coming off rather simple while Evie is the one who’s plot appears to be more complex and invigorating instead of being too blatant.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate features a superior combination of two contrasting characters and generates an interesting storyline. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is pretty vast and you better bring your A-game if you wish to assert your supremacy over Victorian London.
In specific, you will need to pay attention to the Conquest Activities. They come in four types: Bounty Hunt, Child Liberation, Gang Stronghold and Templar Hunt. In the end, whatever you do ends up bringing the same result, freeing some territory from the Templars.
After you have finished the Conquest Activities in a particular section, you can take over it completely by starting a Gang War. Keep in mind that freeing a particular territory doesn’t mean that there won’t be any more enemies in it.
Instead, they will be much less common and at the same time, allied gang members whom you can recruit will start to appear more frequently. Clearing territory is a proper way to ensure that things get a little easier since story missions in the game partially take place in the open world.
Meanwhile, as you progress through the game, you will unlock special gear, equipment, and crafting upgrades. If you want an immediate reward in this game, chests are your way to go about it. It is not necessary for you to hunt down each and every chest present in Victorian London but early in the lower-level areas, tracking chests can be highly beneficial.
In the first sequences of the game, if you clear up Lambeth and Southwark of chests completely, it will help you get enough gold to buy new equipment, ensure some initial crafting while buying some gang upgrades which should bring about further gold gain.
You can purchase the update for your gang after unlocking the Train Hideout, early in the game. The upgrades for your gang are basically split into three categories:
- With the Ringleader upgrades, the strength of your gang members can be improved.
- The rival gangs and police become less of an issue with the Insider upgrades.
- Finally, the Swindler upgrades focus on giving you bonuses to the economy.
Try to focus primarily on the Swindler upgrades with the list of five perks from Pub Investor to Shop Investor. It will highly increase the amount of money made by your gang. It will also increase the money-holding capacity of the safe in your train.
There will be new shipments incoming every 30 minutes into your train-safe so, in the early part of the game, it is recommended that you stop frequently between missions, to pick up your pay. After that, you should further invest them into stuff that will make you more money.
