Avatar 2: Release Date Pushed Back, Cameron Reworking On Script, And More

Fans may be a little disappointed with the news that the release date for Avatar 2 has been pushed back, but they need not lose hope because there are numerous spoilers about the plot and cast that have appeared online.

It has been revealed that Sigourney Weaver will reprise her role as Dr. Grace Augustine in Avatar 2. How will that happen is a very relevant question since Grace had died in the first film, but director and writer James Cameron has a weird answer to your doubts.

In an interview to Cinema Blend, Cameron has said that no one dies in a science fiction and the answer to whether Grace dies or lives is completely dependent on her agent. There is a high chance that Grace survived or if she hasn’t, Weaver might get to play Dr. Augustine in a flashback sequence.

Avatar 2 will also see Sam Worthington coming back as Jake Sully. He has signed a contract for the trilogy sequel and it is going to be exciting to see how Jake handles his new body now that he has exchanged his place with his Na’vi avatar. Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully will be joined by Zoe Saldana, who portrayed the role of Neytiti.

Avatar 2 was set to release on 2016. It was supposed to have a Christmas Day release, but the release date has been pushed back by James Cameron. The film is now set to release on 5th December, 2017.

The main reason for the release date being pushed is that Cameron wanted some more time to fine tune the script of not one, but three sequels. According to sources in Screen Rant, Cameron has enough material to make four sequels, but he contract bound to stick with three and is hence burning the midnight oil to cut things down into three more films.
