Avatar 2: Cameron Waiting for New Technology to Capture Underwater Sequence, Will Depict Water Eco-system, And More

Avatar 2 is set to be released in 2017 and the two other sequels will release one after another. The work on the three films is set to start simultaneously and thus Cameron needs to be completely ready before the filming starts as there will be time crunch.

The wait for the technology is actually a blessing in disguise since Cameron gets the time to settle down everything before starting with the filming.

Avatar was set in Pandora, a moon of the Alpha Centauri star system. The native inhabitants of the planet are the Na’vis, who worship their ecosystem.

The humans discover a very valuable mineral in their planet and will go to any lengths to get their hands on it. Jake Sully a disabled soldier sent to Pandora to tackle the Na’vis, enters their world and helps them fight to keep their world safe from the humans.

Avatar 2 will see some of the actors reprising their original roles. Both Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) and Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) were killed in Avatar, but will be back in Avatar 2. There is no news about what role they will be playing in the script. Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington will reprise the lead roles of Neytiri and Jake Sully respectively.

The film will be shot extensively in New Zealand. The pre-production work has already started since 2014.

  1. I am looking forward to seeing them all. Six years seems like forever and now it’ll be another year at least. I hope it’s worth the wait.
