The live action series has not been welcomed by all fans. Some die-hard fans of Attack on Titans are not very keen on the live action version. Kotaku has reported that fan are very protective about the original work and don’t think that the spin-off of Attack on Titans will be able to do justice to the original.

It is believed that the spin-off will be released even in North America, sometime during coming August and September. The story has been written by Ryo Kawakami and illustrated by Range Murata. It revolves around Rita and Mathias. Rita is the daughter of an apothecary while Mathias is the son of a rich merchant. Rita goes on to join the military. When the Kunita District goes into chaos and the Titan break the outer wall of the city called the Wall Maria, Mathia goes and sides with the bandits.

Attack on Titans 2 covered more than half the story that is depicted in the manga. When the manga based anime catch up or cover the story depicted in the manga, producers usually either write their own continuation, fill the anime with extra episodes and draw out the action or wait for the manga to proceed before starting again.
