The Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation, Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML and the Xiaomi Mi4i are all entry-level smartphones, hitting the same market segment and let us therefore see their hardware stack against each other. These days, it’s all about numbers with Android users so a comparison of their figures sounds good enough.
In terms of display, both Moto G 3rd generation and the Zenfone 2 have a 720p display resolution but the former has 5-inch screen compared to the significantly larger 5.5inch display in the latter. The Xiaomi Mi4i undoubtedly has the best quality display with a full HD resolution of 1080×1920 in a 5-inches screen.
The Mi4i is also the thinnest at 7.9mm, compared to the 10.9mm thick Asus Zenfone 2 and the 11.6mm thick Moto G 3rd generation. The Zenfone 2 is the heaviest at 170 grams, compared to the 155gms Moto G and the 130gms Xiaomi Mi4i. Each of these three devices has a 13megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera for your selfie requirements.
The Asus Zenfone 2 has a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Quad-core processor, compared to the Quad Core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 processor in the Mi4i and the 1.4GHz Snapdragon 410 Quad-core processor in the Moto G 3rd generation. The Moto G comes with 1 and 2GB RAM variants while both Zenfone 2 and Mi4i has 2GB of RAM.
The Moto G is available with 8/16GB internal storage capacity while the Mi4i and Zenfone 2 come with 16GB internal storage capacity. The Moto G comes with the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop while the Zenfone 2 and Xiaomi Mi4i have Android 5.0 Lollipop.
In terms of connectivity, each of these devices offers 4G LTE connectivity with dual SIM. Every year, we notice the Moto G lagging but this time, it has been upgraded to a great extent but we would definitely like to see more, considering that its competitors offer better specs like the Mi4i with its 1080p display.
In the meantime, latest reports suggest that Asus will launch three new variants of the Zenfone 2 smartphone on 6th August at ZenFestival event to be held in New Delhi. The Zenfone 2 Deluxe will be the most premium version of the Zenfone 2 with a back cover that is made out of blue, red and white colors, and features a premium polygonal design.
The design further reveals a crystal effect, featuring over 500 tessellated triangles. The Zenfone 2 Deluxe features a full-HD display with a screen size of 5.5inches. The display comes with IPS technology and has a 178 degree viewing angle. This display sports a narrow 3.3mm bezel which provides the phone with a 72% screen-to-body ratio.
It is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the Zenfone 2 Deluxe has a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom processor Z3580 with 4GB of RAM. The screen has a 60ms touch response time and with the presence of OpenGL 3.0, this device provides improved gaming performance. The blistering fast response times also means that you will get to enjoy a lag-free input.
The Zenfone 2 camera has 13-megapixel rear camera, equipped with Asus’ PixelMaster Technology and sports an f/2.0 wide-aperture lens. The primary camera also has a real-tone flash for accurate color reproduction and warm skin tones. The 5 megapixel front facing camera offers an 85-degree field of view, which is ideal for your selfies.
It features Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the company’s proprietary Asus ZenUI with its fully customizable interface. The high capacity 3000mAh battery offers a full day of use on a single charge, as reported by the company. The 4G/LTE connectivity in the Zenfone 2 Deluxe offers blistering fast connectivity speeds besides the 802.11ac Wi-Fi high-speed option.
