Alien 5: Neill Blomkamp’s Film On Hold, Ridley Scott Renames Prometheus 2!

Ridley Scott’s Prometheus 2 has already created a lot of buzzes and now it is time for Alien 5 that Ridley Scott gave to Neill Blomkamp to make some noise in the social media.

There were recent reports that Alien 5 has been kept on hold and that the film might not see the light of the day, but fresh reports suggest that the film is going to be out, but it is going to adjust the plot for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus 2.

Actor Michael Biehn who has been a part of Aliens directed by James Cameron has revealed that Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 is going to start with the story right where Cameron left it, but the film is going to precede the story that has been dealt with in Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection.

Biehn has confirmed that Alien 5 will focus on Newt who will be about 27 years old. This places the upcoming film from the Alien franchise 20 years after Aliens.

Sigourney Weaver was the one who had played the role in the earlier film, but there is going to be a younger actress taking up that part from her. Given the popularity of the franchise, Biehn said that any actress would want to take this role up.

The news that Alien 5 was on was confirmed by actress Sigourney Weaver. Fox and Ridley Scott are very excited about another Alien film, but the fact is that Ridley Scott is already working on a very similar plot line that it wouldn’t be a good move to keep the two so close to each other.

Scified has come out with the news that Prometheus 2 has been renamed to Alien: Covenant and it was because Ridley Scott is involved with both the movies that he has stalled Neill Blomkamp’s venture.

The films from the Alien franchise have always been released after a long pause of time, but it looks like Alien 5 and Prometheus 2 are going to become out close to each other.

Ridley Scott has been very particular about not making a film that is very similar to the one from the Alien franchise and hence he has closely worked with Blomkamp while drawing up the script for his film.

Neill Blomkamp himself confirmed this news when he sat for an interview with Empire. He said that he had been coordinating with Ridley Scott so that the films do not overlap when it comes to the xenomorphs in the plot.

Neill Blomkamp has said that there was one aspect where the two films were somewhat becoming similar. When Ridley Scott made this known, Neill Blomkamp immediately changed that aspect in Alien 5.

Ridley Scott is believed to the master when it comes to sci-fi and Neill Blomkamp feels it is an honor for him to work with the best in the business. Ridley Scott is directing Prometheus 2, but he is in the producer’s chair in Alien 5.

The director of Alien 5 hadn’t confirmed that this is what the film will be ultimately called. He had jokingly said that since there was no Alien 3 and Alien 4, this film should technically be called Alien 3. However, the tone with which Blomkamp shared this news made it very clear to the fans that he was joking.

Prometheus has a direct connection with the Alien film that Ridley Scott directed in 1979 and by changing the name of Prometheus to Alien: Covenant, Scott has made the connection between the two franchises clear.
