The Expendables 4 is moving forward at a very fast pace with both director Patrick Hughes and Sylvester Stallone deciding to make it bigger and better this time round. This being the fourth instalment of the famous multi-billion dollar franchise, things are expected to be larger than ever.
Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables, which reunited famous action movie stars, has been much loved by fans. Although the last film did lesser business than the first two instalments, it was still a major success. The popularity of the franchise has got Fox interested. They are now going ahead and planning a televised ‘event series’ for the Expendables while The Expendables 4, The Expendables 5 and The ExpendaBelles project is already on the table.
The television venture of The Expendables by Fox will see The Expendables star and writer, Stallone, becoming the show’s executive producer along with the films’ producer Avi Lerner. The showrunner will be NCIS’s Shane Brennan. The creative team will be headed by Kirk Ward, Greg Coolidge and Brennan.
The series is expected to be a fun-filled action packed drama that will bring together iconic television stars as a team of heroes in a mission to stop a terrorist group. Lionsgate TV, whose features group backs The Expendables films, will be backing the television project.
The plot line and cast have not yet been decided, but there is a huge list of television actors to choose from, and fans have already started speculating the names. Names like Chuck Norris from Walker Texas Ranger, Kiefer Sutherland from 24, Jennifer Garner from Alias, Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton from Strike Back, have been drawn up by fans of the franchise.
Justin Bieber fans have a reason to cheer. There is a rumour that Sylvester Stallone is considering to include the pop singing sensation in The Expendables. While this news has been met with a lot of excitement among the Beliebers, original cast member Jason Statham is not pleased with the news.
