Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is on everybody’s mind right now and currently there are valid reasons behind such excitement. From what is known so far, the next generation model in the Samsung Galaxy Note series will be unveiled to the world on 12th August and along with it, we will also get to see a heftier version of the Galaxy S6 Edge known as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
The event is only a few weeks away and the internet is currently overflowing with rumors, speculations, discussions and some nicely detailed renders of the device to be released soon. At present, most of the details are quite clear but we are yet to see the original device.
However, a recent leak might have brought the fans closer to this objective. A recent photo which appeared online comes with the claim that it is the upcoming Galaxy Note 5. However, it is suggested that you don’t get too excited about it. It comes with bulky square designs but reports indicate it is nothing more than a prototype.
People who are unaware of this term should know that these devices are often called a ‘mule’. It is a device with proper functioning and hardware but it is encased inside a shell in order to hide its design related features. In this manner, the manufacturer can release this product to various people for the purposes of testing.
The recent image that was showcased emerges out of Czech Republic and as already mentioned; it is a working prototype of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Reports indicate that this phone is under testing in the Czech networks; however, a mule unit never provides a glimpse at the final and finished/market-ready product.
It was earlier predicted that the device will release in September but the latest rumors suggest that 12th August is now the proposed release date. At the moment, this phone is simply a source of curiosity as it doesn’t come with any benchmark test results or scores and the photo showcases a quite low-resolution display which brings the 5.7inch QHD Super AMOLED into doubt.
The latest discussions and rumors suggest that this device will support wireless charging and include an auto-eject stylus pen. It won’t take much time to come across the full list of specifications, hardware features and probable price of the upcoming Note 5 variants.
Meanwhile, let us took at what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 so far. The latest reports indicate that Note 5 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and 4GB of RAM, or Samsung’s own Exynos 7422 chipset, with four Cortex-A57 cores and four Cortex-A53s.
Earlier we saw Samsung discard the 810 processor due to its heating issues and instead revert back to the proprietary Exynos chip. However, right now it seems like the upcoming OnePlus Two will feature a new version of the 810 processor which doesn’t include the overheating issues.
As a result, Samsung could ultimately switch back to Qualcomm. On the other hand, Sammobile reported that Samsung will go for the Exynos 7422 chipset. Rumors suggest that they were working on the 7430 and a 4k display but in the end, Samsung opted for the 7422 and 2K screen on the Galaxy Note 5.
In the meantime, ValueWalk reported that the upcoming Note 5 might have a 21megapixels camera but it will be most likely close to 18 megapixels or even 16 megapixels. At the same time, ValueWalk further reported a 6MP camera but other websites are suggesting the presence of a 5MP/8MP camera for selfies.
