Rumors Continue to Surround GTA 6, A London-Based Map On the Cards, Might Hit the Market in 2018!

GTA 6 is going to be the next iteration of open-world third person shooting video game in the GTA franchise of video games. Several rumors about this game are floating around on the internet for a significant amount of time.

The last game of the franchise that was released by Rockstar was GTA 5, which was rolled out in 2013. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for Rockstar to come forward with some kind of announcements or updates regarding GTA 6.

It was previously speculated that the developers might have something in store for the fans related to the games at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. However, as can be seen, Rockstar made no accouchements regarding the game at the said event.

The latest reports suggest that the game will not see the light of the day before 2018. It has been seen that Rockstar generally rolls out a new GTA game every five years and GTA 5 was released in 2013. So, if indeed Rockstar decides to follow the 5-year gap pattern with the upcoming game, it is unlikely that it will release before 2016.

Rumors have it that the developers currently have their hands full with an update that will be released for GTA 5. Apparently, this DLC will be set in Liberty City which was the location of one of the previous GTA games. The developers will reportedly use the brand new RAGE engine of GTA 5 for the purpose of developing this update.

Some previous rumors related to GTA 6 claimed that the game might be set in Japan. It was also reported that Rockstar had sent out scouts to the city to gather information required to incorporate it in GTA 6. However, they were later forced to ditch the idea as the network of roads of the city was too complicated to incorporate in the game.

That being said, some frees rumors are indicating that GTA 6 might have a London based gameplay map. Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar had previously stated that the developers do not want to restrict the gameplay map pf future GTA games to America. They want to include other nations in the game too.

They wanted to expand the franchise beyond the American culture and it is quite possible that the developers decide to begin doing so with the next game. In that case, fans could very well be witnessing the European metropolis in the upcoming game.

England is the first preference when it comes to the question of the game having a European setting. However, other nations of the continent could also find their way into the gameplay map of the upcoming game.

It was also reported in the past that GTA 6 would be having a massive gameplay map. Rockstar reportedly wanted to combine all the maps of all the previous games of the franchise to create the gameplay map for GTA 6.

Houser had stated in the past- At the moment, it feels like ‘GTA’s’ DNA is contemporary-ish, American-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that’s what it has been… But that doesn’t necessarily limit it to those, that’s just what we’ve done so far.

The incorporation of a new bigger map in the game would naturally be a bit more challenging for the developers. It could lead to the release date of the game being pushed back further. However, nothing could be surely determined till Rockstar comes forward with some concrete details regarding the game.

If indeed the game comes with a Europe based map, chances are that it will feature some new vehicles too which are traditional to the continent.

A renowned website reports that Rockstar could choose either San Fierro of Las Venturas as the location of GTA 6. Apparently, the map that was featured in the game GTA: San Andreas was not complete.
