Robert Downey Jr. Confirms There Is No Iron Man 4, Marvel Doesn’t Need Standalone Films!

Marvel needed the standalone superhero films in the first phase of their cinematic universe, since they had to establish the superhero before they could bring them in as the Avengers. In fact, Forbes reported that the standalone Iron Man films from Phase One made more money than all the other Avengers standalone movies that followed it.

There are critics who have come out to state that even if Marvel does decide to go ahead and come out with Iron Man 4 after the Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War 2, they will not be interested to see Robert Downey Jr. in the titular role since the actor will not be as agile as they would want him to be for the role.

Downey understands and realizes this problem. He himself stated that even if there is an Iron Man 4, he will be 50 by then and will not be young enough. The clock is ticking he had said that and that he would leave the franchise in a dignified manner rather than embarrass himself by pushing himself for something that he isn’t fit for.

Fans are surely disappointed that there is no Iron Man 4. However, Downey will fill the role of the character in the next few Marvel releases and fans can enjoy that.
