Early life of Rihanna
Rihanna was born on February 20 1988, in the city Saint Michael, Barbados. Rihanna’s mother Monica is a retired accountant with a background of Black Guyanese, and her father Ronald Fenty is a warehouse supervisor. Singer Rihanna has two brothers, Rajad Fenty, Rorrey and a half-brother and two half-sisters from her father’s side, born to different mothers from his past relationships.
She experienced childhood in a three-bedroom home in Bridgetown, and sold clothes with her father in a stall in the city. Rihanna’s childhood was deeply influenced by her father’s dependence on rocks and alcohol which added to her parents’ rocky marriage. As a child, she experienced a ton of CT scans for the excruciating headaches she endured: she “even thought it was a tumor, since it was that extreme.” By the time she was at age 14, her parents had divorced and her health started to improve.
She grew up listening to music and started singing at around the age of seven. She attended Charles F. Broome Memorial Primary School and Combermere High School, where she studied with Chris Jordan, an English cricketer and Kraigg Brathwaite, a West Indies cricketer. Rihanna was an armed force cadet in a sub-military program; the singer Shontelle was her recruit instructor. In spite of the fact that she at first needed to graduate from high school, she pursued a musical career.
