Nicki Minaj has never been one to keep herself bound to only a single avenue. Further to her venture into the world of mobile games, Minaj has decided to take her next step in the film industry. She is going to be the executive producer in a comedy series for Freeform, which will be based on her life, where Ariana Neal is going to play the young Nicki Minaj.
The show is going to be called Nicki and is going to trace her life in Queens, New York. The series is going to be shot on single-camera and will be released by the end of this year. The official release date hasn’t been revealed. Production work for the series started in January.
This won’t be Nicki Minaj’s first foray into the world of television or films. She has lent her voice for Ice Age: The Continental Drift; has been a guest star for Saturday Night Live and even starred in The Other Woman.
In other news related to Nicki Minaj, the singer’s brother, Jelani Maraj, is likely to serve a long time in prison after he was found guilty of raping a 12-year-old.
