Michael Bay Back to Direct Transformers 5, Paramount Plans Spin-Off with Bumblebee, to Be Filmed in Detroit!

Michael Bay has, however, gone on record to state that Transformers 5 will be the last film from the franchise that he will be working on. He said that he had been with the franchise long enough and it is now time to move on.

Even though J. J. Abrams feels that Michael Bay is the best man for the job, the director has made it very clear that he will not be directing any more Transformers film after Transformers 5.

The previous Transformers films have been shot in Detroit and Lee Rosenthal, the President of Paramount Pictures has stated that team will head for city once again to start the shooting for Transformers 5.

The city had been very welcoming to the team of Transformers and they are excited to welcome them back once again. The casting call for the movie had mentioned the possibility of overseas shoot in London, but this hasn’t been confirmed by the studio yet.

With Transformers 5 shaping up, Paramount Pictures is planning on expansions within the universe. They feel there is a lot of scope in the franchise and are looking for spin-offs with other characters. Apart from Optimus Prime, Bumblebee is the other popular character within the franchise and there are plans of a standalone film with the character after the release of Transformers 5.
