Martin Blames His Age For The Delay Of Winds of Winter, Gives A Hint At Jon Snow’s Parentage!

Fans have come to terms with the fact that they will not be able to lay their hands on Winds of Winter before the release of Game of Thrones Season 6. HBO was forced to go ahead with their own plot for season 6 since they didn’t have a book to fall back on. George R. R. Martin has been writing the sixth novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire for over five years now and fans are starting to lose patience.

The general sentiment initially was that the sixth season of Game of Thrones will ruin Winds of Winter for the avid bibliophiles. Martin had also been skeptical about the series ruining the market for the book. However, he had to accept the fact that Winds of Winter will not be ready before the release of Game of Thrones Season 6.

Martin went on to state that fans needn’t worry about Game of Thrones Season 6 ruining Winds of Winter, since the plot for the two will be completely different. David Benioff ad Dan Weiss, the showrunners of HBO’s Game of Thrones, have come out to state that the show will be very different from the plot that Martin has planned for the novel.

Christian Daily has informed that Game of Thrones has always deviated from the plot line, even when they had a novel to fall back on. Benioff and Weiss have made it very clear that there are going to be similarities, since they will deal with the story that Martin has created, but there will be major differences as well since two creators will deal with the two stories.

Fans have been repeatedly asking George R. R. Martin when Winds of Winter will be released. He had initially said that it would be released in time for the premiere of Game of Thrones Season 6, but now that doesn’t look like a possibility. The recent announcement is that the sixth novel will be published in 2017.

There are rumors that Martin is struggling to finish the novel and has hence asked Neil Gaiman to collaborate with him. Neil Gaiman is the author of several fantasy novels and he would be best suited to become to co-author for the remaining novels in A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Martin has spoken up about the development of Winds of Winter. He said that he might have been over optimistic about when he could complete the book.
