A highly shocking rumor regarding the LG G5 has emerged on the internet. According to it, the upcoming flagship device from LG will include high-end retina scanning in order to differentiate itself from other Apple and Samsung devices.
A lot of potential buyers are looking very intently at the upcoming year since a new year usually means a brand new device and this should include a lot of top-notch smartphones and it seems like LG isn’t lagging or fooling around.
This is primarily because it has been rumored that the upcoming phone will come with new technology. According to popular expectations, Apple and Samsung will not be using such a technology for the next two years. The latest rumors indicate that LG is currently collaborating with a company named Irience in order to introduce a technology that will set it apart from the rest of flagships in the market.
Reports indicate that this new technology might include fingerprint scanning. According to many other outlets, the LG G5 will feature an increased display size at 5.6inches, compared to the 5.5inches screen of its predecessor, the LG G4. However, the device will have the same resolution as its predecessor, at 2560×1440 pixels.
Meanwhile, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, which is a major improvement over the Snapdragon 808 chip used in the LG G4. A lot of people think that this new development is nothing worth boasting about while others think that this is quite a significant upgrade for LG’s upcoming flagship device.
Meanwhile, another major speculation regarding the device indicates that it will bid farewell to the less-common plastic and leather that was seen in the LG G4. Expert reports indicate that LG will finally start using a full-metal build and choose design that is similar to that of Apple and Samsung smartphones. Meanwhile, a solid confirmation on the release date is yet to be announced but rumors indicate that it should release on February 2016.
LG usually reveals its flagship devices in the second quarter every year but reports indicate that LG has a different set of plans for the upcoming year. The latest reports suggest that the upcoming LG G5 flagship might be released in the first quarter of 2016. A Welbo post revealed that LG G5 could be released as early as February 2016.
Further rumors indicate that LG G5 will sport a metal body and discard the leather back that was seen on the LG G4. The new design should be similar to the one that was seen in the recently launched LG Zero.
The forthcoming smartphone will feature a 5.6-inch display with QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution, and will be powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 820 chipset. It will feature an 8megapixel front camera and a 21 megapixel rear shooter with ½-inch sensor.
When it comes to the camera department, this is pretty standard specs and most modern day smartphones come with such camera figures. Meanwhile, the LG G5 should come with another improvement in the form of a biometric security which was sorely missed on the LG G4.
However, the company will probably make amends as the latest speculations suggest that LG G5 will sport an iris scanner along with a fingerprint scanner as well.
The latest Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950XL introduced the new iris scanning technology. In June, we saw the LG G4 in a dual-SIM avatar. The G4 came with 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB on board memory, and further included a microSD card slot.
