HTC One X9: Tech-Specs Revealed, Release Date on the Cards, Smartphone Compared to the Yu Yutopia!

Even though the Holiday Season is about to get over, a lot of smartphone manufacturers are sticking to relaunching old devices in brand new packaging. Let’s take the HTC One X9 for example.

The device is another ‘hero’ device from the Taiwanese tech giant and is priced at $370, making it one of the most affordable smartphones from HTC till date. The HTC One X9 resembles the HTC Butterfly and some believe that it’s a rebranded variant of the Butterfly.

Judging by the technical specifications of the smartphone, the HTC One X9 offers mostly beginner-friendly features that can be commonly found on any budget-friendly device in the market nowadays.

It features a 5.5-inch 1080p display along with an Octa-Core MediaTek X10 chipset and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone features 32GB of built-in storage along with an external storage capacity of 200GB.

The device is powered by a 3,000 mAH battery and sports dual Nano SIM slots. The smartphone also supports regular UMTS 3G bandwidths (850/900/1900/2100) along with China Mobile’sTD-SCDMA 3G bandwidths (1900/2000) apart from sporting dual mode 4G LTE (FDD bands 1/3/5/7/8/28,TDD bands 38/39/40/41).

Apart from the standard features, the HTC One X9 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 primary camera and optical stabilization. The camera comes with a dual-tone flash along with an UltraPixel f/2.0 front camera for better shots during low light conditions.

The best part about the camera is that it captures images in RAW format, which is another reason for you to celebrate, if you appreciate the depth of clarity in an image. The camera on the X9 is borrowed from the HTC One A9, and it is safe to state that the A9 features a much higher price tag than the X9.

HTC is trying to steal a slice of the market, which is currently dominated by the local brands such as Xiaomi, Gionee, Huawei, Vivo and OPPO.However, all of the above-mentioned brands have better smartphones lined up in the price segment that the HTC One X9 is slated to compete in.

As a result, it is up to HTC to market the product in order to make their deal sweeter than the rest. The price range mentioned earlier is on offer in China only, since the phone is available off-contract. We hope HTC has similar deals for their loyalists across the globe too.

As far as the release date is concerned, the HTC One X9 is expected to release sometime after the Lunar New Year, which is between the 6th and 14th of February, 2016. HTC has released an official statement claiming that the smartphone is gearing up for release, although, the company failed to mention any fixed dates for the same.

Spy images of the smartphone were revealed recently, showcasing the design changes on the device. The HTC brand logo has been transferred to the upper front part of the body, as opposed to the lower side of the body, usually seen on most of the devices.

The strongest rival of the HTC One X9 is the Yu Yutopia, which apart from being a standard flagship-killer, sports Cyanogen mod right out of the box. The Yu Yutopia happens to be one of the slimmest and lightest smartphones in the block, and it offers a better feel when compared to the One X9.

The Yutopia’s exterior is composed of a superior alloy of magnesium and aluminum. As a result, it guarantees superior strength. The Yutopia also has a fingerprint sensor for added security. The display on the Yu Yutopia deserves special credit since the quality of the display is crisp and better than most smartphones in its class.
