Beyonce grabs 9 nominations in 2017 Grammy’s

The much-anticipated list of nominees for the 2017 Grammy Awards are finally announced. Former Destiny’s Child member Beyonce leads the ensemble of nominees. She has nine nominations including Album of the Year for Formation and Song of the Year for her single Lemonade. Is she destined to top the list of those who will bring home the awards?

Following her in the list of most nominations earned are equally-talented R&B talent Rihanna with eight nominations. Hip-hop sensations Drake and Kanye West are tied with her with also eight nominations each. On his first year, Chance the Rapper trails the leader board with astounding seven nominations.

British singing superstar Adele proves that she’s got all ages covered as she bags five nominations. Her album 25 is also nominated for Album of the Year while her heart-breaking performance of the single Hello earned her the Record of the Year nomination.

Also in for Album of the Year nominations include Justin Bieber’s Purpose; Drake’s Views; and Sturgill Simpson’s A Sailor’s Guide to Earth.

Completing the nominees for Record of the Year are Lukas Graham’s 7 Years; Rihanna & Drake’s Work; and Twenty One Pilots’ Stressed.

For Song of the Year, the nominees are Formation (Beyonce), Hello (Adele), I Took a Pill on Ibiza (Mike Posner), Love Yourself (Justin Bieber), and 7 Years (Lukas Graham).

The other nominations earned by Beyonce include Best Urban Contemporary Album (Lemonade), Best Music Video (Formation), Best Rock Performance (Don’t Hurt Yourself), Best Rap/Sung Performance (Freedom), and Best Music Film (Lemonade).

The 2017 Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Show starts at 8:00 pm ET with live telecast on CBS. James Corden will host the event which will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
