Furthermore, with the Android Marshmallow update rolling out soon, chances of an Android 5.1.1 update release, looks rather bleak. It was earlier reported by GSMArena that LG will push out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update for the LG G2 in the upcoming months.
Last week, there were reports stating that AT&T, US Cellular, Verizon, and Sprint, the four major US carriers will release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update for the first flagship smartphone of 2014 by Samsung, the Galaxy S5. However, T-Mobile released the update for Samsung Galaxy S5 units as early as July, which was quite ahead of the other major careers.
The update will finally be pushed out by the major carriers since Google will be releasing the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update soon. It has also been reported by Neurogadget that Galaxy S5 mini will be the next smartphone to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update.
Keep in mind that the Samsung Galaxy S5 units under US Cellular will be the ones to receive the update initially. It is still not clear whether the other carriers will release this update as well.
However, officially, Samsung has confirmed that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update will be rolling out for the following devices: Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Samsung Galaxy J1, and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
