2017 Jeep Wrangler Could Be Introduced In 2017-2018 with New Leaked Photos Showing a Test Mule in Progress, And More Information

Meanwhile, the fanboys are wondering whether Jeep will stick to its proper four-wheel drive with low range formula, rugged ladder frame and a pair of solid axles while the rest of the world wonders whether Jeep can do all of that while keeping up with modern fuel-economy realities.

The good news is that it has already been established that the upcoming Wrangler will keep its rear and solid front axles, body-on-frame construction, and four-wheel drive features. The sturdy frame will get lighter and stronger with the application of aluminum.

Meanwhile, some spy photos acquired by caranddriver.com indicate that the SUV makes use of new axles along with new suspension geometry that comes with a relocated lateral link along with new exhaust bits.

Other than that, the underbody features of the Jeep Wrangler remains same with coil-suspended Dana axles at each end. However, the rear-axle seems like a Dana offering but it is unmarked and features a completely new differential casing along with a boxed frame.

Visual comparisons between the present Wrangler and the leaked images suggest that there are no changes in wheelbase. Reports suggest that Jeep is doing their best to employ Chrysler’s ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic in their upcoming Wrangler.

In other news, we know that the 2018 Grand Wagoneer is going to be arriving in 2018 and we’ll have to wait for some time before it finally arrives.

Stay tuned for more updates on 2017 Jeep Wrangler!

  1. Great question, thanks for asking. We think it’s a 240-hp 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel but not 100% sure on this yet
