2016 Toyota Tacoma: Tech-Specs and Prices Revealed, Has Room for Improvement, More Information

Toyota should also consider increasing the fuel carrying capacity of the Tacoma in the future, if they want to tread ahead of the competition.

Every pickup in the segment offers a standard 21.1 gallon fuel tank and Toyota needs to up the ante in order to stand out from the rest. The hydraulically-assisted steering wheel is lifted right off its predecessor and has nothing new to offer.

Driving the Tacoma is a pleasurable experience due to the low range power that the pickup produces. The vehicle performs exceptionally well under low to medium revs, although, there is no additional power as the vehicle touches the red line.

Acceleration is complemented well by the superior braking prowess of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma. Even without disc brakes, the vehicle instills confidence into the heart of the driver. However, when you head off road, the story changes drastically! Toyota should consider offering disc brakes and ABS on the Tacoma, since they offer greater stopping potential off road.

  1. I own a 2005 Tacoma, with the V-6, 6 speed manual transmission, 2WD, and extra cab. From this article I got the impression that the 2016 comparable model does not have ABS or front disc brakes, which I do have, and would want in a new model. Do I have to get an upgrade package to get what used to be standard features? Since I tend to keep my vehicles for an average of ten years, would I be better off waiting for an upcoming truck with better gas mileage, and better standard features, or get a 2016 model and enjoy it now?

    Thank you for any comments.
