There is a six-speed manual gearbox that keeps things fair and natural, however, if you don’t like shifting yourself, the automatic variant should grab your fancy. From the looks of it, you’ll be able to place your order by the end of the month. It will make its official debut in the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed which will take place from 25th to 28th June. The latest version of the 25-year old roadster will launch on markets in summer with an estimated price tag of $28,000 on the base model.
As mentioned earlier, the 2015 Mazda MX-5 will come in two different variants of 1.5L and 2.0L. The five different models are SE, the SE-L, the SE-L Nav, i Sport, and i Sport Nav. All of these five variants will feature six-speed manual transmission, alloy wheels, LED Headlights and air-conditioning.
The SE-L model comes with climate control, cruise control, daytime running lights, touch screen infotainment system, Bluetooth and DAB radio. On the other hand, the sports models receive keyless entry, heated leather seats, automatic lights and an upgraded sound system. Furthermore, the Sports-NAV and SE-L NAV systems feature satellite navigation for an extra premium of $760.
Mazda has not yet revealed the actual weight of the 2015 Mazda MX-5 but most car enthusiasts and experts believe that the weight savings on the new roadster should be around 100 kilograms. The car has also used aluminum in order to make sure that the weight stays less.
